Yacht Varnish

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & USE

Urethane alkyd combinations based, is a single-component varnish. The wood surfaces of marine vehicles, internal and external surfaces of buildings ,doors, windows, shutters, garden fences and wood surfaces of furniture is used as a decorative and protective products without disturbing the natural look.

Pigment: Lightfast pigment

Binder: Alkyd resin

Solvent: White spirit

Volume Solids % 47 ± 2

Specific Gravity 0.9112 gr/cm³

 

SURFACE PREPARATION

The application surfaces should be cleaned from the dirt, oil, dust and all loosen structured swollen layers, the faults on the surface should be removed.

 

APPLICATION

Remove oil, dirt and dust from the surface. Application area must be clean and dry. If there is varnish, glass lacquer or wax on the application surface, sanding should be made. Candle (wax) layer must be completely clean on polished tile and mosaic surfaces. It is applied 2-3 times with brush, roll or spray on prepared surface. Wait 5-6 hours between coats. Application should not be made under +5 degrees Celsius ambient and above +45 degrees Celsius ambient temperature.

 

SPREADING RATE

As depending on the type and absorbency of the wood, on single layer 15-17m²/kg area can be painted.

 

REDUCTION

At first layer, application yacht varnish should be thinned at a rate of %10 with a synthetic thinner to be absorbed by surface. Bubble collapses may occur on the surface if adequate thinning is not made.

 

DRYING TIMES (SINGLE COAT, STANDARD THICKNESS)

Touch Dry: 30 minutes,

Holding Dust Dry: 1.5-2 hours,

Complete Dry: 3-4 hours.

CLEANING UP

Clean up with soap and water. After cleaning up be sure to flush spray equipment with solvent to prevent rusting following manufacturer’s instructions. Dispose of can in accordance with local authority guidelines.

 

PRECAUTIONS / WARNINGS

Keep out of reach of children. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. If the product comes in contact with the eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water. To remove splashes from skin, use soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner. Do not take internally. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Dispose of contents to a waste disposal facility in accordance with local/national regulations. Safety data sheet available on request.

 

STORAGE

The product should be kept in a dry place. Lid should be closed   tight when not in use. Not to be exposed to direct sunlight. Stock life is 1 year in original container. Protect from freezing.
